Lake Harriet Montessori School, a nonprofit, parent board operated corporation, was incorporated in March 1982 by parents interested in providing quality preschool / kindergarten education and child-care for their children within a neighborhood setting. Each family becomes a member of the corporation for the duration of their child's enrollment and participates in the operation of the school.

Upcoming events:

-We have a new member of the LHMS staff. Ms. Florence will be joining us on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Her daughter Yike (pronounced “eekay”) will also be attending LHMS Tuesday, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

-LHMS will be closed for Labor Day on September first.

Thank you all parents!!! We've been waiting a long time for this and now we can relax on our new cork/tiled floor. As always, we couldn't have done it without you...

Some reminders (click here for list of tree nuts and lunch ideas!)

-During pick-ups and drop-offs, you are in charge of your child. Please do not allow your children to be outside or in the classroom unattended. We ask that pick ups and drops off be five minutes or less. You child may be confused about whose in charge when both parents and teachers are present.

-Because of the increased risk of an allergic reaction, we ask that all LHMS families avoid all tree nut products in lunches. Click the "Some reminders" link above for a sheet with a list of tree nuts as well as alternative lunch ideas.

-Please remember to help your child to clean out their cubbies at the end of each day. We have limited cubby space and often the area is overcrowded with papers, show and tell and other preschool sundries.
